Grave Seasons has been delayed!

Developer Perfect Garbage has announced that Grave Seasons, its narrative farming sim with a murderous twist, will no longer release on its previously confirmed date of August 14, 2026. The studio confirmed the delay in a post on Steam, stating that the team is fully focused on getting the game ready across all platforms before committing to a new date. No replacement release window has been announced at this time.

The news also comes alongside a second disappointment for fans: a planned demo that had been scheduled for June 15 has been cancelled outright, meaning players will have to wait for the full release to get their first hands-on experience with the game.

What Did Perfect Garbage Say?

In their official statement, the studio explained that the realities of game development led to the decision. They wrote that the team would "fully prioritise the journey to launch," and that all studio capacity is now directed at completing the game on all platforms so that the entire community can experience it together on day one. The developers did leave the door open for a demo in the future, noting it "will depend on studio capacity further down the line," but made clear it is not a current priority.

Perfect Garbage has been working on Grave Seasons for three years, so the delay reflects the team's desire to ship the game in the best possible shape rather than rush it out to meet a summer deadline.

What Is Grave Seasons and What Does This Mean for Players?

Grave Seasons is described as a narrative farming sim with a murderous twist. The game had been announced for PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and was also set to be available through Xbox Game Pass at launch. That Game Pass day-one availability is presumably still planned, though the studio has not addressed it specifically in relation to the new timeline.

For players who had August 14 marked on their calendars, the wait just got a little longer and a lot more uncertain. There is currently no confirmed new release date, and no revised window has been communicated beyond a general target of later in the year, according to reporting on the announcement. GameFactsGuide will update this article as soon as a new date is confirmed.

In the meantime, fans can wishlist Grave Seasons to stay up to date with any future announcements from the studio.
