Beast of Reincarnation

Beast of Reincarnation is Game Freak's first major project outside the Pokémon series, and it looks nothing like what you'd expect from the studio. Set in a post-apocalyptic Japan in the year 4026, it follows Emma, an outcast with the ability to manipulate plant-like vines growing from her own hair, and her loyal dog Koo. Combat blends real-time sword fighting as Emma with command-based skills for Koo, letting you fight while always feeling like a duo rather than a solo hero.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

Sony's first-party fighting game finally arrives this August. Developed by Arc System Works, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 tag-team fighter starring 20 Marvel characters reimagined in an anime-inspired art style, from Storm and Wolverine to Spider-Man and Doctor Doom. Four teams share a single life bar each, and matches can shift between fast action combos and tag-based strategy depending on how you like to play.

Grave Seasons

If Stardew Valley had a murder mystery running underneath it, you'd get Grave Seasons. You play a newcomer rebuilding their life in the small town of Ashenridge, growing crops and fishing by day, while a supernatural serial killer hides among the townsfolk. It's a cozy farming sim with a genuinely dark twist, published by Blumhouse Games.

Brigandine Abyss, PC: August 26, PS5: August 27

A long-running PS1-era strategy series makes its comeback. Brigandine Abyss is a hex-based tactical RPG where you lead one of six factions, commanding squads of knights and monsters across the continent of Meltitea against a resurgent empire. With six story campaigns and 24 playable factions in mission mode, there's reportedly over 200 hours of content here for strategy fans.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Konami's second Metal Gear Solid compilation brings Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to consoles other than PS3 for the very first time, alongside the HD Collection version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. As a bonus, the collection also includes the Game Boy Color spin-off Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, plus screenplay books, master books, and a digital soundtrack.

Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters

The follow-up to Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions continues the World Youth arc with 110 playable characters and a roster of new over-the-top super moves for passing, shooting, and blocking. A new Stars Route lets you create a custom player and join the Japanese national team alongside Tsubasa himself.
