Dead by Daylight's 9.6.1 patch brings killer balance tweaks to The Doctor and Ghost Face, a wave of 2v8 bug fixes, and a massive sweep of audio, character, map, and perk corrections.
What's new
Dead by Daylight's 9.6.1 bugfix patch is now live on PC, delivering a focused round of killer balance adjustments alongside one of the most comprehensive bug fix passes the game has seen in a while. From 2v8 mode corrections to audio polish and map collision fixes, this update touches nearly every corner of the game.
Two killers received direct stat improvements in this patch. The Doctor sees his Shock Therapy attack delay reduced from 0.75 seconds down to 0.65 seconds, making his power feel more responsive. His "Discipline" add-ons have also been updated so their detonation delay reductions are proportionally smaller in absolute terms but retain their relative value after the base change.
Ghost Face receives a crouch movement speed increase from 3.8 m/s to 4.0 m/s, giving him a slight edge when using his stealth crouch to stalk survivors.
The Mastermind's core balance changes from the main game mode are now carried over into 2v8. To keep things fair in the larger-scale mode, the time required to gain a Bound token has been nudged up from 5 seconds to 5.5 seconds. A new Mastermind Innate Skill formalizes this timing adjustment within the mode.
The Diminishing Returns section of the in-game Game Manual has been updated to now list every Action Speed and Modifier affected by the system during a trial, making it easier for players to understand how stacking effects interact.
The progress bar arrow animation has also been refined to more accurately reflect how quickly the bar is actually filling, giving players a clearer visual read on generator and objective progress.
