Dead by Daylight's 9.6.2 bugfix patch addresses a wide range of audio, character, map, and perk issues, plus re-enables The Pig's Amanda's Letter add-on.
Overview
Behaviour Interactive has released Dead by Daylight patch 9.6.2, a focused bugfix update that resolves a substantial list of issues across audio, characters, maps, perks, and platform-specific behaviour. Notably, The Pig's Amanda's Letter add-on has been re-enabled after being taken offline.
2v8 Mode
A UI bug in the 2v8 mode has been resolved, players were finding the Play buttons greyed out on the Overview tab after browsing the Quests screen.
Audio Fixes
Several Killers were suffering from audio problems that have now been corrected:
- The Krasue was missing sound effects when hooking Survivors in both Body and Head Form.
- The Nightmare's Dream Snare attack was producing distorted audio for nearby Survivors.
- The Dredge's "Nightfall soon" audio cue was playing at an abnormally loud volume when the player was inside a Locker.
- Tomie's audio was incorrectly persisting into trials against The Spirit.
- The Demogorgon's Red Moss add-on was failing to silence the gurgling sound effect when exiting a portal.
Character Fixes
A number of visual and mechanical character bugs have been addressed:
- Certain Feng Min outfits had skirt clipping during various animations.
- The Xenomorph had a stray object visible on its head in the lobby.
- Survivor footstep visual effects were absent when above a Xenomorph Tunnel, and an aura display issue existed between the Control Station and Exit.
- The Pig's add-ons, Amanda's Letter, Jigsaw's Sketch, and Jigsaw's Annotated Plan, were not correctly modifying the number of Reverse Bear Traps available. Amanda's Letter has also been fully re-enabled.
- The Executioner's Obsidian Goblet add-on was incorrectly preventing the Spirit Fury perk from functioning during ranged attacks.
- The Blight was not losing Tokens when breaking a pallet with 3 or fewer Tokens remaining.
- The Nurse was missing her fatigue animation from the Survivor's point of view.
Environment & Map Fixes
- Freddy Fazbear's Pizza: The camera was clipping through assets in certain positions.
- Midwich Elementary School: Some hooks were unreachable due to a collision issue.
- The Forgotten Ruins: A gap between stacked cages was blocking projectiles, collision primitives have been replaced to correct this. Additionally, a corrupted 3D file in the astrology room extended vault collision and blocked projectiles from passing through at certain angles; both the collision and the file have been repaired.
Perk Fixes
- Phantom Fear could incorrectly trigger on a Survivor even when the Killer was not within their line of sight.
- Nowhere to Hide was unable to reveal Survivors who were in the dying state.
- Leader was remaining active after the Survivor carrying its benefit had been sacrificed.
- The totem aura for Hex: No One Escapes Death was not visible from the Survivor's perspective.
Platform Fixes
- PC players using a DualSense PS controller were seeing incorrect button icons.
- Resizing the game window on PC could cause a crash, which has now been resolved.
- A Steam logo was incorrectly appearing in the Player Stats Access page on Switch and Switch 2.
Miscellaneous
A tentative fix has been applied to address flashing lights occurring during a trial.
