Everything you need to know about Swiftbroom Academy: layout, exclusive valuables, hazards, and lore.
Swiftbroom Academy
Swiftbroom Academy is a magic school tileset, the most fantasy-themed of the four maps. It features potions, hats, cauldrons, beds, bookshelves, nightstands, barrels, crates, and clothing racks as decoration. Some rooms have valuables spawn fairly high up on shelves, which require either 2 people, extra jumps, or the Cauldron item to reach.
Some rooms in Swiftbroom have valuables on high shelves. Bring a teammate or look for Cauldrons in the level to boost yourself up, otherwise you may have to leave those items behind.
Layout and navigation
Swiftbroom Academy tends to have many interconnected rooms across multiple floors, classrooms, dormitories, storage areas, and the Headmaster's Study. The multi-floor layout means there are many staircases and tight hallways. Monsters can cut off escape routes in corridors, so always plan a backup exit when looting deeper rooms.
Tip
Headmaster's Study
In higher-level runs you may find the Headmaster's Study, a large chair with a portrait and a skeleton wearing the same hat. This is the dead headmaster. The room often has high-value items.
Notable exclusive valuables
Swiftbroom has some of the most valuable items in the game, but also some of the most dangerous.

Tips for Swiftbroom Academy
Dumgolf's Staff is the most valuable item in Swiftbroom but emits a dangerous laser if damaged. Use the Indestructible Drone if you need to move it safely.
Rooms with high shelves: check if the Cauldron decoration item is nearby, you can use it as a boost platform to reach elevated valuables.
The last graduating class was 'Class of '87'. The incident happened in '88, which is when the academy was abandoned. The Dumgolf connection to the Clown monster originated here.
Extraction points are always on the outer edges. In Swiftbroom's multi-floor layout, look for exterior-facing rooms on the ground floor.
Lore
There are large pits of a yellow substance in Swiftbroom, speculated to have something to do with the creatures there. There is a calendar saying 'Class of '87', the last graduating class before the Incident in '88 caused the academy to be abandoned. Dumgolf, speculated to be an extremely powerful wizard at Swiftbroom (whether student, teacher, or headmaster is unclear), is believed to be connected to the origin of monsters like the Clown. Four headmaster portraits appear repeatedly in the academy. Dumgolf was the third headmaster and may have been demoted after improper use of magic. The deceased headmaster in the chair is not Dumgolf.
Note
Dumgolf connection
A painting in the Museum of Human Art shows Dumgolf using his staff on an Apex Predator, linking him to the creation of multiple monster types.
