R.E.P.O. | Valuables & Extraction Guide

How to handle items, use the C.A.R.T., and successfully extract without losing money.

Valuables & Extraction

Everything in R.E.P.O. revolves around getting valuables to the extraction point in one piece. Items break when dropped, lose value when damaged, and some have surprising interactions that can hurt you or your team. This guide covers everything you need to know about handling loot and extracting successfully.

Watch out
Everything breaks
R.E.P.O. is a physics game. Items break when dropped, bumped into walls, or hit by monsters. Every bit of damage reduces their value. Slow down and be deliberate with everything you carry.

Handling valuables safely

Follow these rules to maximise the value of every item you extract.

1
Hold small items close
Cups, potions, and other tiny items can break from something as simple as a teammate running into them. Hold small items as close to your body as possible, especially through doorways and around corners.
2
Watch for special interactions
Some items have unique effects: Dumgolf's Staff fires a laser when damaged, the Chomp Book flies and bites when its box breaks, the Scream Doll flails when held, and the Clown Doll explodes after its nose is touched three times. Scan items before picking them up.
3
Use the C.A.R.T. for heavy items
The cart is your best friend for bulk transport. Load heavy items onto it and push it to the extraction point rather than carrying everything individually. Items dropped into the cart take less damage than items dropped on the floor.
4
Keep the cart away from monsters
When you see a monster, your instinct might be to run, but make sure to move the cart out of the monster's path first to protect your items.

Extraction points, what you need to know

Extraction points are the square pads where you deposit valuables. They always spawn on the outer edges of the map, never in the center. Follow the perimeter when you need to find them fast.

Warning
Never stand inside an active extraction point
If you are standing inside the extraction point when it activates, you will die. As soon as you have deposited your last item, step out immediately.

Common extraction mistakes

Items hanging outside the boundary
Make sure everything is fully inside the extraction point boundary. Items hanging over the edge will explode on extraction and you get nothing for them. This includes the cart itself, push it fully inside.
Overloading the cart
Items can topple from an overloaded cart and break. Do not stack items higher than the cart sides, and make sure nothing is in a position where it could fall during transport.
Ignoring item weight on the map
Your map shows loot as yellow dots, the larger the dot, the heavier the item. Use this to plan which items to go for first and which extraction point to use.

Quick tips

You can open your map while carrying an item. If you are walking backwards while holding something heavy, open the map to see the path to the extraction point.
On higher levels, scout extraction points first and take your heaviest and most valuable items to the easiest-to-reach extraction point.
Every time you successfully meet the quota and return to the truck, you heal 25 HP.
