R.E.P.O. v0.4.1 brings a wave of bug fixes, balance tweaks to staffs and vehicles, and quality-of-life improvements to the Shopkeeper and Cosmetic systems.
What's new
Hey semibots, v0.4.1 is here, and it's packed with fixes and balance changes across a wide range of systems. Whether you've been cruising around in vehicles, blasting enemies with staffs, or hunting for new cosmetics, this patch has something for you.
The Cosmetic Box spawn system has been tuned so the "bad luck" multiplier now persists through a game over and ticks up at the end of a level rather than the start, giving players a better shot at new drops over time. The Cosmetic Shop Machine has also been updated to reduce the chance of unlocking similar cosmetics back-to-back. As a nice touch, unlocking a grabber cosmetic now shows the grabber itself during the unlock animation.
The Shopkeeper's Ruckus System has been overhauled to detect a broader range of misbehavior. It no longer holds players uncomfortably high (which was causing Death Heads to clip into ceilings), and it will now give you a warning shot before opening fire, as long as your crime isn't too serious.
The Charging Station can now reach items held at greater heights. Item Staffs have been fixed to shoot in the direction they're pointing while rotating and will snap back to a forward aim after rotating while charged. Vehicle sound effects have been toned down when scraping walls or surfaces.
Staffs received several balance passes: enemies can now hear staffs while they're charging or being fired. The Void Staff's effect lasts longer. The Roll Staff has a less random duration and slightly reduced ammo. The Zero Gravity Staff also has a more consistent and generally longer effect, with slightly less ammo.
The Defibro now releases a shockwave that stuns nearby enemies on use. Vehicles have also been made more dangerous to ride, enemies like Heart Hugger can now stun your vehicle when they grab you, letting you remount only briefly (2 seconds at a time). Enemies are also better at hearing vehicle engines and impacts.
