Elsa is a small dog that desperately wants your attention, ignore it too long and it transforms into a massive, charging nightmare with 600 HP.

Elsa starts out as a small white dog wandering the level, looking for someone to pet it. It seems harmless enough, and for a short window it genuinely is. But let it go too long without attention and it transforms into a towering, muscular creature that rushes down its target and bounces them off every surface in reach.
In R.E.P.O., Elsa holds the record for the highest HP of any monster in the game at 600, which makes brute-forcing it a poor use of your resources. The good news is that dismissing it peacefully is surprisingly easy if you act in time.
Elsa roams aimlessly until it spots a player, at which point it starts following them, barking and jumping to get their attention. It can detect players by sight, sound, and direct touch. The longer it goes without being petted, the more agitated it becomes: its barking grows louder and more frequent, its eyes turn red, and after roughly 15 seconds without a pet it transforms into its enraged form. Being hurt by anything, including other monsters, will also trigger the transformation immediately.
In its enraged state, Elsa rushes its target and deals contact damage to anything in its path. It will jump to reach players on higher ground and crouch to reach players hiding under objects. After a set amount of time it shrinks back down, walks away, and returns to its normal behavior as if nothing happened.
While the initial hit only does 5 damage, the physics damage from being repeatedly slammed into walls or objects reaches 25 per hit, which adds up fast in tight spaces.
Elsa can be used as crowd control in a pinch. If another monster hurts Elsa while a player is nearby, Elsa will enrage and target the closest player, but the rampage also damages anything else in its path, which can take out smaller threats nearby. Elsa also shares properties with the Apex Predator, including compatibility with the Duck Bucket, which can be used to neutralize it. If you can maneuver a conscious Elsa into a pit beneath an object like a vent or floor board, it will become stuck and eventually exhaust itself to death, making orb retrieval straightforward.
Elsa loses interest almost immediately if you break line of sight before it enrages, it will simply return to roaming the level. This makes the pre-enraged phase very easy to manage with basic positioning. Its transformation into the enraged form also has a lengthy animation, giving you a clear window to create distance or prepare. Once stunned, Elsa reverts to its normal form and its Strength Breakpoint drops to 0, making it trivial to pick up and throw. The catch is that 600 HP makes actually killing it a slow and costly process, so stunning it is more useful for control than for finishing it off.
Killing Elsa deliberately is generally not worth it in normal play, given its 600 HP and small orb value. That said, if you commit to it, the most practical method is to exploit the pit trap: maneuver a conscious Elsa under an object like a vent in McJannek or the boards in Headman Manor, drop it into the pit below, and let it become stuck and die on its own. This costs no ammo and results in clean orb retrieval.
If you want to kill it through damage, stun it first to drop its Strength Breakpoint to 0, then pick it up and slam it repeatedly. Slams deal physics damage and bypass the need to chip through 600 HP with weapons alone. Keep in mind that once the stun ends, if you are still close Elsa will immediately re-enrage, so time your slams and create distance before it recovers. Forcing Elsa into a fireplace is also a confirmed method, similar to how you would handle the Apex Predator.
